Sometimes I get excited about technology.  Those that know me, know this about me.  I wanted to say a little bit more about something I mentioned in a previous post, Varnish.

I found this little slideshow tonight that I wanted to share.  Here are the salient points.

• It's a reverse proxy (like Squid but better)
• It's very fast
• It's been designed from the ground up as a modern caching proxy system

I haven't personally integrated Varnish into any of my systems yet but I expect to begin testing it myself very soon for a project I'm doing at work.  Until then, some folks at VG Multimedia have something to say about it.  Also, Jason H. at Joyent has good things to say on their blog as well.

So, like I said, sometimes, I get really excited about good technology.  I'm excited about this one!  Enjoy!
